BIPOC Youth Journalism Training Fellowship

Program overview

The people producing news in Canada are overwhelmingly white and fail to represent the diverse cultures, perspectives, and experiences in this country.

Working with Canadian news media organizations, the BIPOC Youth Journalism Training Fellowship program offers flexible paid work placements for emerging journalists from equity-deserving communities. As a result of this program, fellows are equipped with the experience they need to pursue careers in journalism, host newsrooms add valuable perspectives and energy to their outlets, and as audience members, we all benefit from more nuanced and representative coverage of our communities.
