Amplifying Female Voices in the Transition and the Reform Process
Program overview
Since July 2021, the JHR has been executing this program funded by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) in Mali. The program aims to enhance the representation of women and girls by working with media outlets and women’s rights organizations and engaging key stakeholders, including decision-makers, community leaders, and the public.
The program’s objectives include strengthening the capacity of journalists, enhancing the visibility of women’s rights organizations, and providing a platform for constructive dialogues on women’s rights issues.

JHR is engaging media, women’s rights organizations, decision-makers, and key stakeholders to prioritize and address women’s issues. We’re strengthening the capacity of journalists, especially female journalists, to understand and report on critical women’s rights issues. By producing gender-sensitive and impactful reports, we’re driving change at the grassroots level.
Our efforts are geared towards amplifying the representation of women’s rights organizations and bolstering their capacity to effectively interact with media and pertinent stakeholders. These initiatives enable these groups to advocate more efficiently and yield better outcomes. The program is creating a platform for productive dialogues among key stakeholders, fostering sustainable partnerships that center women’s rights issues in decision-making processes.
Success stories
This program has empowered journalists, especially female journalists, to report on critical women’s rights issues in a gender-sensitive, high-quality, and impactful manner. This has resulted in significant changes at the grassroots level, giving hope to women and girls everywhere.
In addition, we have been able to increase the visibility and capacity of women’s rights organizations, allowing them to engage more effectively with media and key stakeholders. This has led to better advocacy outcomes and a brighter future for women’s rights.
The program has also become a platform for productive dialogues among key stakeholders, fostering sustainable and productive partnerships that prioritize the needs of women.
