Journalists for Human Rights (JHR) is looking for a Gender-Media Trainer to work with JHR’s team in Nairobi, Kenya. The Gender-Media Trainer will work closely with the local Program Manager and the Journalism Team Leader on implementing the project “Canada World: Voice for Women & Girls.” The project targets Kenyan media and civil society. The Gender-Media Trainer will be assigned to all targeted media outlets on a rotational basis. In addition to the tasks conducted by the media trainers, the gender media trainer will also support the implementation of the component that is focused on building the capacity of local media on covering human rights through gender sensitive reporting.
The work will include training and mentoring local media professionals, such as journalists, journalism students and media managers under the supervision of the Program Manager and in collaboration with the Journalism Team leader and the Gender Specialist.
