Each journalism trainer will spend eight months living in one First Nation community in Northern Ontario, training community members in media production and media literacy. The goal of this training will be to establish community-based news content, provide media literacy training to community members and mentor interested individuals (this may include students and youth) to report from their communities and get their work published locally and in media across Canada. This position also involves building community engagement in the program, assessing the existing local infrastructure, resources and capacity, and liaising with local community organizations and institutions to support and achieve program goals.
