Journalists for Human Rights (JHR) in partnership with Arab Reporters for Investigative Journalism (ARIJ) has launched the 2nd edition of the Human Rights Reporting Award in Jordan under the project “Expanding the Public Dialogue on Human Rights in Jordan through the Media” sponsored by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Amman.
The Human Rights Reporting Award aims to encourage the production of high quality human rights journalism that can have a positive impact within communities through promoting a constructive public dialogue around human rights issues.
General Eligibility: Journalists are invited to submit one or a collection of stories that address a specific human rights issue from print and online written media that highlight a human rights issue of their concern.
Journalists are encouraged, but not required, to have included elements of data journalism. Stories must have been published by media outlets in Arabic.
Publication Date: Stories should have been published during the period from September 1, 2015 through October 30, 2016.
Submitting Entries: Applicants are invited to out the submission form and email their entries to [email protected].
Deadline: The deadline to submit the entries is November 15th, 2016 (23:59 Amman time).
Date and location of the ceremony: The Human Rights Reporting Award will go to two human rights stories and will be announced at an official ceremony on December 2nd during the 9th ARIJ Conference at the Mövenpick Resort and Spa Dead Sea at 7:00 pm.
The two award winners will receive media equipment.
Eligible format of stories: applicants are required to submit their stories published through one of the following mediums:
Print – newspapers or magazine publications: submissions must include a PDF copy of the stories.
Online – websites: submissions must include a URL address of an appropriate website that contains the story.
Judging Criteria:
Degree of difficulty in obtaining content matter.
Effective use of storytelling techniques, including clarity and narrative.
The breadth and scope of research undertaken.
The degree of change or action created from news coverage.
The legal knowledge.
Supporting material and resources used including creativity, originality and innovative reporting tools, such as data journalism.
The judging committee will consist of representatives from media and academia.

فتح باب الترشح لجوائز التقارير الصحفية عن حقوق الإنسان لعام 2016
عمّان- أكتوبر(تشرين الأول) 2016
تعلن منظمة “صحفيون من أجل حقوق الإنسان” JHR الكندية بالشراكة مع شبكة “إعلاميون من أجل صحافة استقصائية عربية – أريج” وبدعم من سفارة مملكة هولندا في الأردن عن إطلاق مسابقة أفضل تقريرين صحفيين تناولا قضايا حقوق الإنسان في أي جانب من جوانبها.
وتهدف الجائزة تشجيع الصحافيين على الارتقاء بمستوى وجودة تغطية القضايا المتعلقة بحقوق الإنسان، والمساهمة في التأثير الإيجابي على المجتمع ودعم الحوار العام حول قضايا حقوق الإنسان في الأردن.
شروط التقدم للمسابقة:
أن يكون التقرير)أو مجموعة تقارير ركزت على قضية واحدة) قد عالج قضية متصلة بحقوق الإنسان في الأردن.
أن يكون التقرير معمقاً، ويتضمن أدوات ومصادر إبداعية حديثة، مثل: تحليل بيانات، إنفوغرافكس.
أن يكون التقرير منشوراً في واحدة من وسائل الإعلام المحلية (مطبوعة، إلكترونية).
أن يكون التقرير قد نُشر في الفترة ما بين سبتمبر (أيلول) 2015 حتى أكتوبر (تشرين الأول) 2016.
أن يقوم المتقدم بإرفاق سيرته الذاتية وصورة شخصية له إلى جانب التقرير.
يُرسل نسخة من التقرير بصيغة (PDF)، إضافة إلى رابط النشر في وسيلة الإعلام على البريد الإلكتروني [email protected].
آخر موعد لاستقبال طلبات المتقدمين للجائزة مساء الخامس عشر من نوفمبر (تشرين الثاني)، ولا يتم قبول أي طلب بعد ذلك التاريخ، وسيتم إعلان نتائج المسابقة خلال فترة انعقاد الملتقى السنوي التاسع الذي سوف تقيمه شبكة “أريج” في فندق موفينبك البحر الميت بتاريخ الثاني من ديسمبر (كانون الأول) المقبل في تمام الساعة السابعة مساءً من يوم الجمعة.
وستكون الجائزة المقدمة للفائزين معدات صحافية بقيمة ألف دولار أميركي.
وسيتم تقييم الأعمال المتقدمة من قبل لجنة تحكيم مكونة من صحافيين أصحاب خبرة وأكاديميين، ضمن المعايير التالية:
صعوبة الحصول على المحتوى.
مدى التوسع في البحث.
درجة الوضوح وأسلوب السرد.
الثقافة القانونية.
درجة استخدام الأدوات والمصادر الإبداعية الحديثة، مثل البيانات والإحصاءات.
الأثر أو النتائج التي حققها التقرير على كافة المستويات ذات الصلة بالقضية المطروحة.
